Local distribution house, Pinnacle Micro, has announced the local availability of LG's Black and White and Colour Do-It-Yourself security kits.
2006 was a year to settle down and realign the CCTV division, says Stephen Hammond, national sales manager: Pinnacle CCTV at Pinnacle Micro.
"One of the priorities for the past year was to get the regions focused on CCTV," he adds. "Now that this has been achieved, we can confidently offer a total solution to our customers throughout SA, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe."
"Crime and vandalism remains a growing concern and, in an effort to comprehensively address these issues, Pinnacle CCTV has brought CCTV closer to the home owner with the introduction of LG's DIY kits."
Competitively priced, and now introduced into the consumer retail channels, the DIY kits offer peace of mind in the form of a solution that curbs housebreaking and theft.
A key feature of the DIY Kits is that it can be linked and integrated to most existing and already installed alarm systems, says Hammond. Despite their operating sophistication, the kits are extremely simple to install.
"Essentially, they are plug-and-play systems which only require the cameras to be positioned and the cables connected."
Hammond says that at present there are two kits available and their features are as follows:
17-inch Colour Monitor Kit
* 17-inch flat screen colour quad observation monitor
* One motion-sensing colour camera
* Two weather resistant colour cameras
* Dual quad processor (suitable for up to eight cameras - four at a time)
* System can automatically rotate between eight full screen camera locations
* Selectable picture-in-picture viewing option
* 2-way audio through monitor and cameras
* Alarm input on cameras and outputs on monitor

* 12-inch black and white observation system
* One weather resistant camera and one motion-sensing camera
* System can rotate between four full-screen locations, or show all four at once
