Pinnacle Micro has been on an expansion drive over the past few months that has seen the company open three new branches and a new subsidiary company. The new branches in Nelspruit, Bloemfontein and Namibia were opened after SDD`s demise late last year.
Gerhard van Vuuren heads the Nelspruit branch based in Murray Street, which became operational in November last year. His focus is to establish a well-managed and profitable branch for Pinnacle in the Lowveld region and "to infiltrate the local PC market with Proline PCs and products".
He adds: "We want to deliver exceptional service to our customers, leaving them no alternative but to support us."
The Nelspruit branch operates as a fully-fledged branch of Pinnacle, stocking all the same products and services that are available in Johannesburg. It handles warranty issues locally and also provides an on-site service option to its customers.
Van Vuuren states: "We will have sufficient items available for our market, making it possible for our dealers to satisfy their customers` needs instantly or, in extreme cases, within 24 hours."
The Bloemfontein branch opened on 9 January 2002 and is headed up by Pieter Oosthuysen. His focus for the branch is to provide Bloemfontein customers with a full solution service, in order to establish Pinnacle Micro as the leading supplier in the Free State market.
He comments: "We want to make Proline a household name through exceptional service, realistic pricing and close customer relations. We know that profitability will be a natural outcome of the above actions."
The Bloemfontein branch is also a fully-fledged branch that will handle warranty issues locally, as well as providing an on-site service option.
Oosthuysen concludes: "We are very excited about the new challenge, proud of our premises and look forward to providing our customers with all their IT needs."
Pinnacle Micro`s new branch in Namibia has been operational since 6 February. Based in Southern Industrial, Windhoek, the Namibian branch has John Kirton at the helm. He intends the branch to "fill the void created by the demise of SDD". Kirton wants to achieve this by ensuring that Pinnacle runs a service orientated, well-managed and profitable branch in Namibia in order to establish and maintain long-term relationships with Pinnacle`s customers. The branch will carry a large stock holding to ensure that it can meet its customers` needs.
Kirton states: "Pinnacle Micro Namibia will be based on strong business ethics, supplying to a selective market that is prepared to pay for best of breed products and excellent service."
Cape Town saw the opening of a fully-fledged subsidiary of Pinnacle Technology Holdings, called Pinnacle Micro Cape, which has been operational since early January. It is headed by Craig Nowitz, who is assisted by sales and marketing director Tim Humphreys-Davies and operations director Rudi Thietz.
Nowitz states: "Pinnacle Micro Cape is primarily a tier-2 systems integrator, whose flagship product is the Proline range of PCs, as well been a first line distributor of major agencies such as ASUS, Creative, Verbatim and Canon to name a few."
According to Humphreys-Davies, the company is focusing on servicing the channel in all aspects of business. He states: "Offering the dealer service is key to our business, from fast turnaround times on machine assembly to servicing warranty with 24 hours, speedy response times on queries are all key to our business."
He concludes: "We are delighted with the response from the dealer channel in the Cape to our new business. We have a superb product range with a full stable of products to offer the dealer. We have embarked on an aggressive growth strategy to penetrate the dealer channel and we are seeing the response already. We have already had to expand our assembly area to cope with the demand!"
