Intel`s latest processor, the Intel Pentium IV 2.4GHz, was added to Pinnacle Micro`s CPU portfolio this week.
Built on 0.13-micron technology, it is made on larger 300mm wafers. The Intel Pentium IV 2.4BGz features 400MHz Front Side Bus technology with 512k of L2 cache and 55 million transistors and advance (SSE2) multimedia instructions.
Intel claims this processor contains the fastest and smallest CMOS transistors in current mass production, namely 60 nanometers.
Production of the Intel Pentium IV has increased tenfold since the first quarter of last year, making this line of processors the highest volume shipping microprocessor globally.
The 2.4GHZ benchmarks on the SPEC CPU2000 with a SPECint_base2000 score of 819 and a SPECfp_base2000 score of 806.
Being a Intel Premier Provider, Pinnacle Micro has started to ship these processors in via the authorised channel and will have stock available as from 29 April.
