Plantronics, Inc (NYSE: PLT) today expanded its growing portfolio of unified communications headsets optimised for Microsoft Office Communicator with the new wideband .Audio 630M USB binaural headset and the .Audio 615M USB monaural headset. The qualification process ensures business users will benefit from a superior end-user experience for calls initiated through Microsoft Office Communicator 2007.
Wideband utilises more than twice the audio bandwidth of conventional telephony to greatly enhance intelligibility. The new .Audio wideband headsets provide users with the feeling of true face-to-face conversations, resulting in improved business communication during PC-based audio and video conference calls, and person-to-person calls. “As unified communication voice applications become mainstream, business users and IT decision-makers require the highest quality headsets to ensure a positive experience,” said Amy Huson, director of UC Product Marketing at Plantronics. “Developing products that are qualified by Microsoft adds value for our customers who want to experience improved communication and more effective collaboration.”
Both headsets are lightweight and comfortable with a flexible headband. Users connect to their PCs via USB, which provides enhanced digital audio for consistent sound quality. In addition to providing wideband audio, the .Audio 630M headset enables users to listen to music in stereo. The .Audio 615M is an easy-to-use wideband headset for users of Microsoft Office Communicator 2007.
“Office Communicator 2007 is transforming business communications by providing the most advanced and seamless unified communications experience,” said Moz Hussain, director of Product Management, Microsoft. “Because Plantronics' wideband .Audio 615M and .Audio 630M headsets are optimised for Microsoft Office Communicator, businesses have confidence their employees may use these products for clear voice communications and optimal productivity.”
