Plantronics (NYSE: PLT) today announced a distribution agreement with Westcon Africa under which Westcon Africa can supply the full range of Plantronics leading business, contact centre and UC devices to the African market.
"Plantronics have worked closely with the Westcon Group in many other territories. Westcon have demonstrated excellent reseller relationships and significant expertise in supporting their partners with unified communications and converged network solutions. This distribution agreement is part of Plantronics' strategy for developing new markets for our leading solutions," said Paul Clark, VP and General Manager, North Western Europe and sub-Saharan Africa.
"Westcon is committed to providing our partners with best-in-class solutions and products. Our resellers know they can rely on our customer service, specialist support and our deep expertise in UC, network and telephony solutions. Plantronics fits our portfolio perfectly. As more companies are looking to UC solutions, to drive cost savings and flexibility in the workplace, we need to offer an end-to-end solution. Plantronics' endpoints, compatible with our telephony offerings, will provide resellers with the optimal solution for their customer base," commented John Spreadborough, General Manager - Convergence, Westcon Africa.
"Plantronics have increased investment in the African market over the past 24 months," said Duncan Barnes, Plantronics' head of business development in Africa, "and the addition of Westcon significantly improves resellers' access to the Plantronics portfolio across the continent."
The Westcon Africa distribution agreement covers sales to West Africa, East Africa and Central Africa, with the inclusion of Angola.
