South African software developer and outsourcing company PM Tech Holdings has appointed Bytes Technology Networks (BTN) East Coast as its second value-added reseller (VAR) for KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
BTN, along with InfoWave, is now responsible for marketing and supporting the Enterprise System Monitoring solutions developed by PM Tech`s development wing, PM Ora Software.
Under the new partnership agreement, InfoWave will continue to focus on the Oracle-based market for the PM Ora Enterprise Gauge EMS suite, while BTN will focus on markets running on other IT infrastructures, popular databases and operating systems (OSs).
"BTN is an important addition to our partner team, which has over the past two years been growing steadily in key areas throughout Africa," says Mike Leeuwen, director, PM Tech Holdings, a Proudly South African company.
"We`re expecting BTN to make some major in-roads in KZN, particularly in the Microsoft and networking space, which is their traditional market focus."
One of the main reasons for PM Tech`s growth is that the company has expanded its solutions set beyond Oracle database monitoring, to include the monitoring and administration of multi-vendor IT infrastructures.
Working jointly with BTN, PM Tech has identified several key prospects in the general manufacturing, auto industry, utilities, tertiary and financial markets with sales already in the pipeline.
Says Naveen Sivenandan, manager - network management at BTN: "Enterprise Gauge is significant and financially viable, as the product is rand rather than dollar-based, thus making it considerably more economical than competitive solutions with similar functionality.
"An additional significance of this product is the availability of expert local support and quick response times, therefore ensuring our customers` requirements are timeously met."
BTN believes that as a VAR it is able to add considerable value through relevant input and market feedback that will assist PM Ora Software to refine, develop and enhance its solutions suite.
"PM Tech has proven to be an extremely professional company through their approach to solving customer queries expertly and promptly," adds Sivenandan.
In addition to the standard in-house implementation of the Enterprise Gauge suite, BTN has also identified numerous opportunities in KZN for an outsourced IT infrastructure monitoring and administration service.
"There is a rapidly growing market for outsourced services in the region, due to the high costs incurred by organisations running non-core operations internally and limited skills resources. BTN has several outsource partners that will benefit from the PM Tech offering," says Sivenandan.
"Companies will, for example, be able to leverage Enterprise Gauge`s Web-enabled remote monitoring capabilities, whereby anyone with access to a Web browser and the proper authorisation, can monitor and control an IT infrastructure over the public Internet or a private intranet," he concludes.
