Black empowerment company, Siyazakha Information Technology has been appointed a value-added reseller (VAR) by PM Tech, developer of PM Ora Professional, the Web-enabled Oracle database management solution.
In terms of its VAR agreement, Siyazakha will market, implement and support the PM Ora product range in the Western and Eastern Cape. It will also offer a PM-Ora-based outsourced database management service.
Since its formation in 1999, Siyazakha has focused on providing services around Oracle`s solutions and database technology to the government and corporate sector.
Siyazakha`s Rafiq Motlekar says database administrators should be doing everything they can to automate or outsource routine tasks such database management.
"With information technology skills now at a premium, the use of an automated database management solution can free key staff to address more critical business issues such as planning, development and expansion," he says.
Mike Leeuwen, a director of PM Tech, says Siyazakha has built up a solid reputation for service delivery in the Cape area and is confident that their appointment as a VAR will increase PM Tech`s presence in this market.
PM Ora Professional comprises seven modules containing key features for administering the database. Running on versioning technology, PM Ora Professional allows users to take a defined snapshot of the database, save it and use it for comparison against another database at anytime. Being Web-based, databases can be managed and administered from a PC anywhere in the world.
