PM Tech creates leading Microsoft resource

PM Tech Holdings, the software solutions development, networking and IT consulting group, has merged the operations of its Microsoft services division, PMMCS, with its network services company, CCC Systems, to create one of the leading Microsoft systems integration resources in South Africa.

The new company, PM Microsoft Consulting Services (PMMCS), will provide a single point for consulting, design, roll-out, training, maintenance and support of MS technologies and environments in companies ranging from small concerns to multi-national corporates.

In announcing the company, Mike Leeuwen, a director PM Tech said PMMCS will build on the joint expertise of the two former separate companies to enable clients to optimise the use of their investment in Microsoft-based technology.

"Our focus will be on delivering exceptional quality of service together with a wide range of services - from managing the roll-out of enterprise-wide XP projects to one-off implementation of an MS Exchange Server," he said.

Since establishing its consulting division a year ago, the company has secured major project work throughout Africa including the roll-out of MTN`s MS XP environment in Nigeria, while CCC Systems, over the 12 years of its existence, has created a client base of more than 400 companies.

"All work - from consulting through to delivery - will be carried out by our team of MCSE engineers, who are also passionate Microsoft technicians with several years practical experience behind them," he added.

PMMCS` consulting services are aimed at customers who implementing new technology and need design only or design and implementation services. Additional service have been designed to help companies upgrade existing MS technology ensuring the design conforms to Microsoft standards.

Services provided can be on a project management or full implementation basis.

The third leg of the PMMCS consulting services addresses the needs of companies wanting to optimise their existing MS technology, resolving environment problems and recommending measures that can enhance the system`s performance.

The company also provides standardisation and documentation services that simplify recovery in the event of a disaster.

A range of support services have been designed to maintain environments where companies either do not want the burden of having their own support staff or would like to have someone back up their existing support staff.

Included in the PMMCS support service offering are a monitoring tool, Enterprise Gauge to help the customer and their support staff identify problems before they happen and the Focus SQL, Focus Windows and Focus Windows 2000 Web-based remote monitoring tool that provides proactive database monitoring and management support.
