South African IT company, PM Tech, has signed a joint venture agreement with B2B Solutions, a Nigerian systems integration storage networking and IT distribution specialist.
In terms of the agreement, B2B will market PM Tech`s South African-developed products and services in Nigeria.
The move is expected to see PM Tech substantially widen the market for its PM Ora Software suite of infrastructure monitoring tools in West Africa as well as its systems support operations in the region.
"B2B Solutions, although a very young company, is managed by individuals with extensive IT and business experience in Nigeria. It is a company that has an excellent knowledge base and is working at the right business level especially in the corporate environments where our strengths are also focused," says Mike Leeuwen, director of PM Tech.
"B2B complements our own activities perfectly and we`re looking forward to building an enduring and mutually profitable relationship with them," he says.
B2B is particularly active in the telecommunications, oil and financial markets - sectors that are currently attracting substantial foreign investment as the country continues to modernise and restructure its utilities, infrastructures and key industries.
B2B will be marketing and supporting PM Ora Software, Enterprise Gauge and Enterprise Focus suites of IT infrastructure monitoring, reporting and administration solutions. These were initially developed as a database monitoring solution for Oracle environments, but have been expanded to cover all database environments as well as VMS, Unix and Microsoft-based infrastructures.
"PM Tech is a dynamic company with innovative solutions that allow companies to monitor, control and manage the increasing complexity and criticality of IT environments today. This is one of the reasons we chose to partner with them," says Suleiman Shaibu, managing director of B2B Solutions and who was previously responsible for driving Compaq`s corporate business in the region.
"As the Enterprise Gauge product can automatically troubleshoot problems and alert staff to developing systems performance issues, companies are able to maximise their IT skills," he adds.
In addition, B2B will also market the PM Tech Group`s engineering support and consulting offerings to augment its own in-house service skills. The PM Tech Group has a broad base of professional and technical expertise in database, networking, software development and systems management available to help companies design, develop and implement systems.
Its PM MCS division also specialises in the design and implementation of Microsoft technologies and provides support services to maintain existing MS environments.
"We`ve already entered into a joint venture with B2B for a contract that includes IT infrastructure technical support for a major international cellular network in Nigeria," adds Leeuwen.
