PMI hosts project management conference

The Project Management Institute (PMI) hosted a conference in India which aimed to empower programme managers and project management professionals across sectors, reports the Express News .

The PMI administers certification courses at the individual company level, and also organises seminars and conferences on project and programme management.

FastTrack-MindManager integration successful

The collaboration between AEC and Mindjet on the FastTrack-MindManager is a good example of a successful collaboration between makers of project management and mind-mapping programs, reports MacWorld.

With a few clicks, users of AEC's FastTrack Schedule Version 9.1 can import from MindManager files, turning brainstorming maps into editable project management schedules.

"We thought about adding an element like that [on our own]," said Ryan Kish, AEC's VP of marketing. "But what we do best is scheduling. As far as mapping out ideas, that's what [MindJet] does well."

Software planner is 2007 Codie awards finalist

Pragmatic Software's Software Planner Professional is among the top five finalists in the coveted 2007 Codie awards for the best project management solution category, says PRWeb.

Ken Wasch, president of the Software & Information Industry Association which established the awards, says the 2007 Codie finalists represent real winners, even at this stage of the contest, as competition is fiercer than ever.

Over 1 000 software products were nominated for the Codie awards, with the finalists announced on 8 January.
