Podio unveils online work platform

Essentially, Podio gives businesses a way to manage various processes and work tasks from one place, and it does that through the concept of 'spaces.'

Users create a space, invite contacts, add and customise the apps they need. The Podio App Store contains more than 200 specialised work apps.

These include task management, file sharing, contacts, calendar, reports and more. Finally, Podio includes an Android and an iPhone app that allows access many features while on the move.

According to TMCNet, Podio combines actions from all applications into one interface. “Users can pick from a range of applications to add specific functionality to a team in order to support a more natural way to work together," says David Coleman of Collaborative Strategies, Podio.

"There is no programming involved. And it is simple enough that even I can do it and create a collaborative workspace for each of the teams I am part of," he adds.

Mobile Beat reports that Podio went live last fall in Europe in a private beta test and has more than 20 000 users among 8 000 organisations.
