Telepresence company Polycom says its Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephony (DECT)-based wireless voice systems have been Cisco certified by TekVizion, an independent third-party lab.
Polycom revealed in a statement that its Kirk Wireless Servers (KWS) and handsets have been certified by Cisco Unified Communications Manager (UCM), meaning that Cisco UCM customers now have a DECT-based option to mobilise their employees for improved responsiveness and productivity within the workplace.
Driving unified communications
Dan Engel, regional sales manager at Polycom, says: “We recognise Cisco as a leader in the UC space, and we're delighted to extend our portfolio of offerings to the Cisco UC customer base.”
The entry-level KWS 300 is a SIP-based wireless telephony system that is ideal for smaller businesses and can support up to 12 handsets and four simultaneous calls. Polycom's KWS6000 is also a SIP-based wireless telephony solution, that can accommodate up to 4 000 mobile employees.
Last year, Polycom achieved the highest market growth for revenue in the European, Middle East and Africa region for group video conferencing according to Wainhouse Research.
Polycom says it trumped all vendors, with 32% market growth, and despite the economic crisis, grew above market average for revenue and units sold compared to 2007.
