At the recent launch of the Handspring range of handheld computers - or personal digital assistants (PDAs) - the distributor, Rectron, promised a steady roll-out of additional features and functions for the product, made possible by Handspring`s Springboard expansion slot facility.
The latest addition is a multimedia presentation module, dubbed "Presenter-2-Go". It is targeted at mobile executives who need to give PowerPoint presentations "on the move".
"The module allows travelling executives, sales people and road warriors to link to a projector unit or monitor to deliver rich presentations to their audiences without the additional weight and worry of carrying a notebook computer," says Mike Cassidy, Handspring product manager at Rectron.
"This product combination represents the future of light, bright professional presentation technology. It incorporates desktop software to create presentation materials from any printable program," he adds.
After performing a HotSync between their PC and Visor, presenters simply connect the PDA to the projector. Included software for the PDA allows presenters to rearrange slides as required.
Presentations may be transferred between Handspring Visor units via their infrared linking facilities.
