Powerful dual monitor card targeted at financial sector now available

Johannesburg, 22 Nov 1999

Component distributor AXiZ, official distributor of Appian Graphics products, has announced that the AGP version of Appian`s Jeronimo 2000, the most powerful dual monitor graphics card to date, is now available. Following on the success of the Jeronimo Pro, which is already used extensively throughout the EMEA`s financial markets, the Jeronimo 2000 features go further to meet the needs of all multi-monitor users.

The Jeronimo 2000 is ideal for a variety of creative professionals in CAE and CAD, desktop publishing, content creation and video editing as well as the financial markets.

The Jeronimo 2000 2D/3D card is the key to expanding desktop space without compromising performance. Designed on the promise that "the more you see, the more you can do", the Jeronimo 2000 enables users to maximise space across two displays from a single AGP slot. The Jeronimo 2000 provides raw graphics performance to drive demanding applications at resolutions as high as 1920 x 1080 x 32bpp at 85Hz and supports OpenGL and DirectX for high-end 2D/3D acceleration.

As with all Appian cards, the Jeronimo 2000 is fully compatible with Windows 98/NT 4.0. Support for Windows 2000 will be available next quarter.

Utilising the Appian/B1 bridge developed by Appian and 3Dlabs, the Jeronimo 2000 is the only multi-chip, multi-monitor card on the market that is AGP compliant. This architecture gives the Jeronimo 2000 exceptional performance that will appeal to a variety of power users.

Controlling complex display tasks across multiple monitors is simple with HydraVision, Appian`s patented display management software, bundled with the Jeronimo 2000. HydraVision enables users to position window and dialog boxes directly and manipulate information across multiple monitors. Also, the user can set independent resolution and refresh rates for each monitor.

"The launch of the Jeronimo 2000 is another significant development in Appian`s commitment to its customers by providing them with the most advanced and comprehensive dual monitor card available," says Clayton Porter, graphics product manager at AXiZ.

He continued, "By offering the most advanced 2D/3D graphics from a single AGP slot the Jeronimo 2000 provides a multi monitor environment in which professionals can maximise their performance, which in turn leads to increased sales and time efficiencies."

Daniel Bachmann, President of Appian Europe said, "Building on the success of the Jeronimo Pro, the introduction of the Jeronimo 2000 into the EMEA markets has huge potential, especially throughout the financial sectors."
