Local UPS manufacturer and distributor, Meissner, has announced the expected arrival of a newcomer to its Powerware range, in November this year.
According to Paul Ashworth, product manager at Meissner, the Powerware 5125 UPS provides advanced power management for PCs, workstations and servers, whether within a small network or enterprise wide environment.
Available in both rack-mount and tower configurations, this product has been classed as one of the most flexible UPSs in the 1-3 kVA power range, featuring capabilities often found in higher kVA units. Says Ashworth: "It has load segments which enable scheduled shutdowns and load shedding, while also offering advanced communications with Powerware`s complete management software suite for extensive control and monitoring."
Bundled with the product is Powerware`s Advanced Battery Management Plus (ABM Plus), which doubles battery service life, a feature considered critical to maximising system availability. This feature also minimises recharge time and provides up to 60 days notification when the batteries are approaching the end of their useful life.
Ashworth says spent batteries can be hot-swapped without the need to power down the connected load. "The batteries can be exchanged through the front of the unit, saving time and excluding the need for elaborate technical expertise."
The Powerware Series 5 UPSs are most effective against power problems such as outages, sags, surges and both under voltage and over voltage conditions.
Says Ashworth: "The Powerware 5125 eliminates threats caused by power anomalies, thus increasing productivity and impacting the bottom line."
The release of this product onto the local market is in line with Meissner`s recent partnering with Invensys Power Systems, an agreement by which Meissner operates as its sole distributor for the whole of sub-Saharan Africa.
"Partnering with a global solutions provider such as Invensys Power Systems allows us to deliver a range of power protection solutions to fit the diverse needs of our customers," concludes Ashworth.
