PQ Business Intelligence, a Q Data Consulting division, has announced its partnership with analytic modelling specialist WhiteLight Systems, making PQBI the exclusive system integrator for WhiteLight`s analytic applications in South Africa.
WhiteLight develops analytic modelling tools that link a company`s business goals with analysis, action and results. Its global implementation portfolio includes some the world`s largest financial and corporate companies, such as Barclays Bank, Bank of America, General Electric and Unilever.
The agreement is expected to address the growing demand for credit risk management using complex analytic models by financial corporates in South Africa and abroad.
PQBI divisional manager Gavin Lipshitz says traditional BI applications have a ceiling when analysing complex business models.
"By automating the steps of complex business decisions, analytic models go a step further than traditional OLAP analysis tools in decision-making," he explains. "They rapidly project the impact of business decisions in mission-critical environments - such as credit-risk management."
WhiteLight`s flagship Analytic Application Server is part of the new Integrated Decision Processing paradigm, considered by the Butler Group "the next and significant step forward in decision processing and support". "IDP sets itself apart from earlier analysis models by eliminating time-consuming and error-prone gaps in decision-making, creating tested decisions and linking analysis to action," adds Lipshitz.
WhiteLight EMEA MD Peter Beard says a higher level of analytic modelling has been required in South Africa for some time.
"With PQBI we can focus on all areas of financial and credit-risk management," he says. "The shift from traditional BI has been gradual but the demand for high-level analytic modelling is increasing and we can`t leave companies reaching this plateau in the lurch."
