PQ Mainstream goes to market with Partnership Support Programme

PQ Mainstream, the midmarket ERP and financial systems company in the PQ Africa group, has announced its Partnership Support Programme (PSP). Similar to the much vaunted application service provider programme (ASP) model, it differs in the fact that the client retains ownership of the system, says sales and marketing director Vanessa Nutter.

"The PSP is aimed at clients which typically don`t have an IT department, which value the importance of IT to the business, but which don`t want to carry the burden of the IT function," says Nutter.

"No matter what size company you are, there are certain issues which cannot be avoided if your systems are to run smoothly. The PSP model is designed to address these."

These include database management and tuning, regular backups, training and retaining skilled people, and the daily management of the system. "Such a range of functions would typically require the attentions of three people," says Nutter. "We supply one of our own consultants and charge the client for the services of just that one person. Then we work with our various partners to ensure the full range of outsourced IT functions is supplied and that the client has systems running at their peak."

Nutter says the PSP model has been well accepted by PQ Mainstream`s client base, which is growing rapidly since the launch late last year of StreamLine, the mid-market ERP suite from Geac.

"Six months after our launch of StreamLine we have a lengthy pipeline, have concluded a number of sales, are busy with implementations around the country, and expect to close several more deals. We are finalising a number of partnership agreements, and in every sense we can confirm the ERP and financial systems midmarket is booming."
