PQ Africa`s e-enterprise resource management (ERM) division, PQ Mainstream, has announced the availability of e-StreamLine, the e-business supply chain optimisation offering from Geac.

e-StreamLine is available as an option to current StreamLine clients who want to extend their business, and to new customers who want to implement an e-enabled supply chain solution.

Aimed at large to medium enterprises, e-StreamLine employs the as a communication medium. "The result is an optimised supply chain and improved which can make a significant difference to the company`s bottom line," said Vanessa Nutter, sales and marketing director at local distributors PQ Mainstream, speaking at the product launch on Tuesday.

e-StreamLine allows customers to query product pricing and availability and place orders over the Internet. PQ Mainstream touts the package as enabling organisations to provide better service and save on costs as customers enter their own orders directly. Order processing time is also reduced and customers receive a faster response. Account customers can query their accounts and the status of their orders online at any time of the day.

The product makes use of open XML standards and Microsoft platforms and has been designed with an object-oriented architecture that allows it to interface with other technologies. PQ Mainstream says e-Streamline is a scalable option that will support company growth.

"Large to medium enterprises can enter the global market with e-Streamline, taking on larger competitors", comments Nutter. "E-business enabled solutions have become a business imperative as companies search for an operational differentiator. The e-StreamLine option underpins an effective e-strategy."
