PQ Africa`s PQ Business Intelligence division will run a series of business briefing seminars on Cognos`s industry-standard enterprise information query tool, Cognos Query, in June. The seminars, presented by senior PQBI consultants, will be held in Cape Town on 18 and 19 June, and in Johannesburg on 20 June. Two 90-minute sessions will be run at each venue.
"Query has extensive features for end-users wanting greater flexibility and real-time information delivery and IT professionals looking for more advanced enterprise-strength functionality," says PQBI divisional manager Gavin Lipshitz.
"End-users, for instance, have access to general functionality such as formatting, filtering, sorting, grouping, and summary calculations for straightforward query modifications, and more advanced features such as advanced filtering or calculated columns using an expression editor, plus charting capabilities and prompts.
"Query has a zero footprint, so it requires no software downloads and has no incompatibility issues with existing software," he adds. "It can also drill across reports, create reports from scratch and query off live data, all from the Web client interface."
PQBI is the largest Cognos system integrator and the only Cognos premier partner in SA.
