PQ Business Intelligence, PQ Africa`s specialist business intelligence and information delivery division, has been appointed an official system integrator for Verity`s business software.
PQBI will offer Verity`s range of solutions, including Portal One and K2 Enterprise, as part of an integrated business intelligence solution from Cognos and Actuate.
With over a decade`s experience in powering business-critical applications, California-based Verity is an acknowledged leader in scalable information retrieval, and was one of the first companies to deliver full-text search solutions for intranet, e-commerce and business portals. It has accumulated more than 1 000 customers, including two-thirds of the Fortune 100.
"Unstructured information, such as Word documents, electronic faxes, images, e-mail and spreadsheets, accounts for over 70% of the information store of a typical company, yet few companies have managed to maximise that information because they can`t control it," says PQBI divisional manager Gavin Lipshitz.
"By unifying and ordering its unstructured data, a business portal increases a company`s efficiency and revenue growth and extends the company`s information delivery architecture to staff, clients, partners and third-party organisations, and from the intranet to the Web."
Portal One incorporates the technology, partners and services for building a complete business portal, automating access, personalisation, searching and navigating features for a business.
