PRAGMA Placements, a subsidiary of the asset performance management group PRAGMA Holdings, has joined forces with black female-owned recruitment specialist Mashalaba & Associates to establish a comprehensive human resource solution across a broad scope of industry. The new company has been branded Mashalaba PRAGMA Placements.
PRAGMA Placements, which has been in recruitment for three years sourcing permanent technical staff for the asset and maintenance management arena, has a broad spectrum of clients including Nampak, Kimberley Clark, KWV, SKF, Ratanga Junction, Parmalat, Anglo Platinum, ABI, the Pioneer Group and Ceres.
Mashalaba & Associates is a 100% black female-owned organisation focusing on the provision of human resources to the financial services industry and parastatals with specific focus on contract work. Clients include SAA, Total SA, Metro Rail, V&A Waterfront, eTV, Sanlam, Innofin and MCG Industries.
The amalgamation will benefit both companies significantly. Mashalaba PRAGMA Placements will be 50% black-owned and consist of a 60% black staff complement.
"The joint venture will gain PRAGMA Placements entry into the lucrative parastatal and private market as well as access to an extensive database consisting of 85% black applicants," says Hanli Marais, MD of PRAGMA Placements.
Through PRAGMA Placements, currently in the final stages of obtaining ISO 9001:2000 accreditation which will be transferred to the new company, Mashalaba will enjoy the benefits of an established international client base and infrastructure.

The new company will operate from PRAGMA Placements` existing offices in Durbanville in the Cape and Rivonia in Gauteng, while the Mashalaba office in Port Elizabeth will be retained to service the Eastern Cape.
