Praxis appointed Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for Collaborative Solutions

Johannesburg, 20 May 2002

Microsoft South Africa has appointed IT solutions provider, Praxis Computing, as its first Gold Certified Partner for Collaborative Solutions.

Praxis Computing - a long-standing Microsoft Certified Partner - has continually demonstrated expertise and success in deploying Microsoft technology-based solutions, and achieved this accolade based on its rich, integrated, Internet-enabled collaborative solutions which support an organisation`s entire business process. Customer service, including extensive training and ongoing support is a crucial element of the company`s solution offering.

The company was evaluated for its Gold Partnership acceptance based on its Microsoft architecture delivery for two projects - the Praxis SETA solution and the Praxis Project Tracking System integrated with Microsoft Great Plains.

The Praxis SETA solution is an integrated software solution equipping government-developed Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) to manage the full range of their financial and non-financial business functions, including stakeholder interaction, online and integrated for the first time. The solution is used by five of the biggest SETAs in the country.

The flagship Project Tracking System is a comprehensive business process support system for funders, grantmakers and development agencies. The National Skills Fund, Umsobomvu, has used this system for the past year to ensure efficient spending of development funds to meet the demands of our society.

"We believe the PTS is the only viable option available in the market today and has proved to be an integral part of our business," says Afsaneh Tabrizi, chief operating officer at Umsobomvu. "The extensive support offered by Microsoft as part of this partnership programme has allowed Praxis to respond quickly and effectively to meet our business requirements."

"The enhancement of our relationship with Microsoft, as well as the development of our internal skills and qualifications, provide us with greater capacity to continue serving our customers in the public and private sectors with high quality solutions," says Mish Middelmann, CEO at Praxis Computing.

With a staff complement of 45, Praxis Computing has made remarkable inroads in the IT services sector. The company is committed to the development of its people and to the empowerment of all South Africans. Since its foundation in 1993, the company has had significant black shareholding as well as black inclusion at all levels of management and staff.

"Our highly-competitive industry forces customers to evaluate technology providers critically and this programme encourages partners like Praxis to deliver effective and innovative solutions to succeed in our increasingly interconnected economy. We look forward to continuing to work together to deliver high-quality services and benefits to our mutual customers," says Brett Parker, enterprise sales and partner group director at Microsoft South Africa.
