Praxis Computing has been quietly evolving during the first two months of 2008. The company has established a new enterprise called Praxis IT Solutions, which will provide labour broking and specialised IT solutions to the industry.
According to Praxis IT Solutions CEO, Wikus Engelbrecht, the company is looking to provide IT skills to the industry on a national platform.
"Our approach is to recruit and appoint IT resources with intrinsic strategic value focused on partnering where appropriate with the client and providing professional IT services," said Engelbrecht.
The term "consultants" and consulting services as a whole has been overused, with individuals with less than a year's experience claiming to be consultants.
"Praxis' value-add," said Engelbrecht, is that "we have an established network of individuals and organisations that has been 'tried and tested' over the previous 15 years. Our teams normally comprise of high-end individuals that have established reputations in what really is quite a small industry. The information technology arena comprises of many niche areas where individual participants know each other and the capabilities of the players and their corresponding organisations."
Engelbrecht said Praxis, via IT Solutions, would set up well-balanced teams of these specialised individuals to provide solutions.
He added that the company's approach is to create partnerships and to be technologically and product independent.
"Praxis Computing has always provided ad-hoc services but with IT Solutions, Praxis will implement the full contracting, outsourced IT services and labour brokerage models for their clients," he said.
For Yugasen Naidoo, Praxis Computing's CEO, the increasing the number of services will help the company consolidate their relationships with clients and partners. "We have long-standing relationships with our clients and we take this role very seriously," he said.
"We have new technology offerings for our clients that will help them take their organisations to new levels," said Naidoo. "Praxis IT Solutions will also help us get high-end skills for varying lengths of time for various projects. This will help us and our clients make use of the latest trends in the markets," he concluded."
