As the global economy emerges from the recession towards recovery and growth, many organisations still find themselves facing a volatile and uncertain future. Now more than ever, companies seek a more structured look at IT service management.
So say event co-ordinators of the SMEXA 2010 Conference and Exhibition, which will attempt to address the issues surrounding this uncertainty. Hosted by the IT Service Management Forum of SA (itSMFsa), along with ITWeb, the event will take place on 3 and 4 August, at The Forum, in Bryanston.
The conference recognises that uncertainty places a premium on effective preparation and robust decision-making, and will focus on what organisations can expect from the South African economy in 2010 and beyond.
Speakers will include national and international IT service management experts, including opening keynote presenter Bruce Whitfield from Talk Radio 702.
Whitfield will set the scene by addressing aspects surrounding the mapping of routes to recovery while taking a look at South Africa in 2010 and beyond.
On the second day of the conference, Tom Scholtz, research VP at Gartner, will explore aspects related to ITSM and corporate governance.
His presentation will include opportunities for driving business value, the King III report and a demand and supply model for IT governance.
