In January 2003, John Flanigan, Prescient`s IBM Product Manager, ran a workshop on IBM`s DB2 Warehouse Manager in Dubai. John was approached by Gulf Business Machines (IBM`s representative in the United Arab Emirates) to run the workshop for a major bank in Dubai.
Their data warehouse is based on IBM`s Banking Data Warehouse (BDW) data models and will be implemented on Linux using DB2 Warehouse Manager and DB2 OLAP Server. Queries and reports will be generated by Business Objects.
This course, the DW46 DB2 Warehouse Manager workshop, is based on the recently released DB2 Version 8, and was the first time this course was presented anywhere in the world. The course was extremely well received by the client with ratings of "very good" to "excellent".
