President`s advisory council meets again

The President`s International Advisory Council on Information Society and Development will meet for the fourth time this weekend.

The council brings together 10 world business leaders and key ministers, directors-general and Thabo Mbeki`s advisers to discuss developments in SA`s ICT sector. The meeting is also expected to discuss the progress made in SA`s priority focus areas for ICT intervention and NEPAD ICT programme.

The council includes Henry Chasia, executive deputy chairman, NEPAD eAfrica Commission; Carly Forina, CEO of Hewlett-Packard; Mark Shuttleworth, director of HBD Venture; Sergio Giacoletto, VP of Oracle; Hans Ulrich Maerki, chairman of the board, IBM EMEA; Esther Dyson, chairman of EDventure Holdings; Reza Mahdavi, VP EMEA, Cisco Systems Europe; Emre Berkin, chairman of Microsoft Middle-East and Africa; Les Hayman, CEO global human resources, SAP AG; and Christian Lacroix, Alcatel VP for Southern and Eastern Africa.

The meeting will be held at Edeni Private Game Reserve at Hoedspruit in Limpopo Province.
