PreWorX, the local developer of preboot software, has launched its Preboot Services Toolkit for ZENworks into the European market at Novell`s BrainShare Europe 2003 conference, held in Barcelona, Spain.
BrainShare is Novell`s annual customer and partner gathering in which the company presents new products, general industry trends in the networking and related fields, and provides an opportunity for IT users and sellers to network and learn what is happening in connected organisations around the globe.
"With over 4 500 paid attendees, BrainShare Europe is the perfect opportunity to launch the toolkit into the European market through our partners," says PreWorX sales and marketing director Rhys Taylor. "It will additionally provide us with a chance to further build the PreWorX brand among ZEN users."
PreWorX has been providing preboot software for inclusion in Novell`s management application, ZENworks for Desktops, for a number of years. With 38 million ZEN users around the world, the potential market- and brand-building opportunity in serving this segment is enormous.
The PreWorX PreBoot Services Toolkit is a set of administrative tools enabling users to expand the preboot capabilities in ZENworks for Desktops. It can be integrated into all versions of Novell`s management suite, from version 3.2 up to 6.
The toolkit enables users to create and modify the ZEN boot image; create and edit preboot menus; and control the menus, processes and images in the preboot state from a remote console. Taylor explains that current users do not have this added flexibility, as ZENworks supports only one process and only makes a standard menu available remotely in preboot mode. The toolkit makes managing the enterprise desktop through ZENworks simpler, faster and more cost-effective.
The PreWorX PreBoot Services Toolkit also allows ZENworks users to integrate third-party imaging solutions such as Ghost, PowerQuest or ImageCast into the ZENworks management space, expanding the scope of the management suite tremendously.
South African ZEN users can contact PreWorX directly to find out more about the product or visit www.preworx.com.
