Liquid Thought/PriceTag - Strategic Alliance and System Overview
As an e-Business Solutions provider, the word e-Commerce means more than just online shopping. For Liquid Thought, it is integral to the online service offering and means providing a stable and secure platform for client transactions on any of its many transactional websites. Without an online Credit Card Merchant status, online shopping would not be possible for processing credit card transactions on the Internet. For this purpose, LT makes use of PriceTag's Super Merchant status for the authentication and processing of credit card transactions.
Over time, Liquid Thought has built up a strong alliance with PriceTag as its e-Commerce partner for online shopping projects. These projects include several successful implementations (e.g. www.shelfco.co.za) that make use of the current PriceTag transaction engine. Recently, Liquid Thought was commissioned to redesign and develop the existing PriceTag banking interface to make enhancements aimed at improving the client experience and performance of the system. The code base of the current system has been rewritten from scratch and some of the new features or enhancements include:
* A more robust, secure and stable transaction management engine aimed at improving transaction throughput, state tracking and session recovery, higher levels of security and information management, email notification management and transaction history; * A payment engine that will be optimised for maximum transaction volumes, transaction management, error handling and recovery, fast credit card authentication and authorisations; * Online Merchant Registrations to improve application turnaround times and merchant administration; * A Merchant BackOffice facility for online application customisation, account administration, order and transaction monitoring, email customisation, monthly usage and financial reporting ; * An enhanced Super-Merchant BackOffice for Merchant Application Processing and Management, Transaction Monitoring and Processing and Monthly Management Reports.
It is envisaged that existing clients will be able to take advantage of the new system at no additional fee and make a seamless transition over to the new platform without any downtime. The new system will be ready for launch in the beginning of the last quarter of 2002.
