Prime Cure, a privately owned Primary Health Care Service provider within the Managed Health Care concept, has contracted AST Business Services to implement a Distributed HR Service Deliver model for its 48 Medi-Centres throughout South Africa.
Prime Cure provides Occupational Health Care services to the corporate sector and delivers services to cash, medical aid and capitation patients through a national network of 48 Medi-Centers and approximately 250 network doctors.
With approximately 400 employees in the operations, Prime Cure had to redesign the Human Resources function to effectively deliver HR services to both individual employees as well as to operations management.
After completing a Business Process Analysis, a Distributed HR Delivery Model was designed for Prime Cure in which multiple HR service delivery channels were created to ensure on-site HR problem solving and first level HR administration. AST Business Services will support and enhance the decentralisation of the management strategy that Prime Cure embarked on late in 2001.
The model integrates the key components of the people value chain such as permanent recruitment, locum staff, training and labour relations management so as to ensure internal service quality that positively impacts on customer service levels.
"Through re-engineering, process improvements, and advanced technologies, we eliminate unnecessary operating costs for Prime Cure while reducing and bringing other administrative costs under better control," explains Gerhard Badenhorst of AST Business Services.
"There is definitely strategic value for Prime Cure, particularly in the areas of improving quality and service, instilling best practices, and having an expert on tap who will stay abreast of constant change," adds Badenhorst.
Prime Cure`s management is freed up to focus more time, energy, and resources on building their core business, as AST Business Services assumes full responsibility for managing the day-to-day HR back-office operations.
