In its efforts to stay at the cutting-edge of the small workgroup environment`s printing demands, Printacom - local brand representative for Oki - has announced the availability of two new Oki laser printers within its popular C5000 range.
"The newly-released C5250 and C5450 feature an increase in memory capacity (96MB and 128MB respectively), making them capable of handling more complex tasks, as well as Oki`s Photo Enhance technology, which now enables users to print clear, sharp, photographic quality images on ordinary office paper, while saving time and costs compared to inkjet photo printers," Neil Rom, managing director of Printacom says.
"Photo Enhance searches documents for images and intelligently improves those images with no adverse effects on print speeds, ensuring your output is more impactful and effective," he says.
The new units also include Oki`s Auto Colour Balance feature, which guarantees colour consistency throughout the life of the printer.
"Other options include a 20GB Hard Disk Drive on the C5450. This provides the memory required for password-protected `secure printing` and the storage of most commonly used letterheads and forms while the optional automatic duplex unit saves on time and materials," he continues.
"Paper capacity, as always, is a priority on these new units, with the standard paper tray on both units holding up to 300 sheets, and the multi-purpose tray holding 100 sheets. There is also an option for a second tray capable of holding an additional 530 sheets," Rom says. "With all three trays installed in the C5000 range, there is little need for constant re-filling of paper, thereby saving busy workgroups valuable time."
"What truly differentiates these units from their predecessors, however, is the fact that network administrators will find supervising their use straightforward, using Oki`s Print Control and Print SuperVision software," Rom continues.
"Furthermore, users have access to the Template Manager software which allows them to create a range of striking documents in-house, including business cards, banners, CD labels and sleeves; and the `Ask Oki` tab within the printer driver provides online support. Add these benefits to the existing ease-of-use that Oki`s entire range boasts and users, along with resellers, have compelling reasons to standardise on the Oki range in the small workgroup," he concludes.
Printacom, a member of the MB Technologies group of companies, is the sole importer and the leading value-added distributor of the Oki range of printers to the South African reseller channel.
Oki is ranked among the top three printer brands worldwide and is the only printer manufacturer that designs and develops its own components, putting Oki ahead of its competitors in terms of printing technology. Supported by the skills and services provided locally by Printacom, corporate companies are offered high-end internationally recognised business printing solutions.
