Printacom, local Oki distributor has launched its "show and sell" promotion to incentivise resellers who both demonstrate and sell the benefits of colour laser printing to enterprise customers.
Says Neil Rom, managing director of Printacom: "The colour laser printing market is showing a healthy escalation rate and this promotion will motivate our resellers to capitalise on this phase."
Rom points to the results of a recent BMI-TechKnowledge report, which showed a 50% increase in the South African desktop colour laser market, as testimony to this expansion.
"With more than 100% growth in this same market segment predicted for 2005, we believe we`re sitting on the cusp of a boom. It`s an inflection point similar to the PC market moving from monochrome to colour monitors," Rom continues. "The massive benefit in the printer space, however, is the fact that printers give resellers access to annuity income. It is estimated that each printer, on average, generates its own value in consumable purchases each year.
The promotion centres on two products, namely the C5200N and C5400N. "Both of these units are designed for network operation and are capable of delivering 16ppm in colour and 24ppm in monochrome.
"The benefits for resellers participating in the promotion are massive," Rom says. "For starters, all participating resellers gain access to detailed training on the products, enabling them to make the most of solutions based on Oki printers for their customers. Demo units are also available at a 25% discount, putting the procurement of demonstration hardware within reach of most resellers.
"After that, the rewards begin," Rom enthuses. "Salespeople with 10 demonstrations qualify for an incentive of R250 per demonstration. Every demonstration after the tenth one is incentivised by the same payment," Rom says.
Printacom will reward each salesperson with up to R600 for each successful sale resulting from a demonstration. What`s more, if a colour printer is sold to a client within 90 days of the demonstration, the reseller also scores, with a 7.5% rebate on all colour hardware purchases.
The "show and sell" promotion begins in October and will conclude end of March 2005. "The closing date for enrolment is 15 November, so we`re calling on all of our resellers to register soon, since late submissions will not be included in the promotion," Rom concludes.
Printacom, a member of the MB Technologies group of companies, is the sole importer and the leading value-added distributor of the Oki range of printers to the South African reseller channel.
Oki is ranked among the top three printer brands worldwide and is the only printer manufacturer that designs and develops its own components, putting Oki ahead of its competitors in terms of printing technology. Supported by the skills and services provided locally by Printacom, corporate companies are offered high-end internationally recognised business printing solutions.
