Prism Holdings is still waiting to hear about the status of its application for an urgent interdict against Lanitor in connection with a copyright infringement claim.
Lanitor has yet to respond to the application for an urgent interdict to prevent it from selling a product based on technology Prism alleges was copied by former employees.
The application was served last week on Lanitor, its MD and 10 employees.
Prism group marketing director Duncan Todd says Lanitor has until this Friday to respond to the application, failing which a court date is to be set next Friday.
Todd says the terms of the interdict would, among other things, constrain Lanitor from competing against Prism in SA and force Lanitor to surrender to the sheriff software Prism claims it developed.
"There has been no progress so far," Todd says.
The dispute centres on a platform for sending and receiving SMS messages. Lanitor, which is staffed by several former Prism employees, is marketing a product Prism claims is based on its own technology.
Although Lanitor has indicated it will contest the case, it has also said the court order bars it from commenting.
Prism CEO Alvin Els, who is currently out of the country, said last week that Prism became aware of the alleged copyright infringement when Lanitor reportedly tried to sell the product to a Prism customer.
Prism was granted an order to make a raid on Lanitor`s property, and files taken in the raid were analysed by Deloitte Consulting.
