JSE-listed Prism Holdings has entered a R22 million deal to provide Telekom Malaysia subsidiary TM Touch with the infrastructure and technology components for its mobile commerce initiatives.
Prism, a secure electronic payments company, says the contract includes the provision of its short message service platform, AirTrax SMS-C, and the provision of Prism Incognito, a family of advanced crypto adapters and transactive security products to ensure security of transactions over cellular phone networks.
The deal also involves a volume order of aSIMetrix SIM cards, which it says is the first subscriber identification module to incorporate a full suite of crypto, payment and secure multi-application capability.
Prism will also provide the system integration services required to implement TM Touch`s m-commerce offerings.
The deal follows Prism`s acquisition of 30% of Telekom Applied Business, Telekom Malaysia`s information communication technology software development subsidiary.
Prism marketing director Steven Sidley says the acceptance of such a broad spread of Prism products by TM Touch augurs well for the company in other large mobile commerce solutions.
