JSE-listed trusted transactions company Prism Holdings has been named the fastest growing VeriFone International Partner (VIP) in the EMEA region, based on overall revenues generated in Sub-Saharan Africa.
VeriFone is one of the world`s largest suppliers of electronic payment equipment, including point-of-sale (POS) terminals. The company has shipped over 11 million electronic payment systems to the global marketplace.
According to Nigel Bidmead, Managing Director of VeriFone EMEA, Prism was the fastest growing EMEA VIP year-on-year in revenue terms from 2002 to 2003 with an astonishing increase of 653%.
"Prism has signed up several new accounts and extended contracts with existing customers. Thanks to Prism, the VeriFone customer base in SA now includes such blue-chip names as Shoprite Holdings, the Edcon Group, FNB, Pick `n Pay Group and Caltex," he says.
Llewellyn Walters, Group Sales Director at Prism, attributes Prism`s success with VeriFone products and solutions to several factors: a substantial software development investment from Prism which has resulted in the development of the Prism Multi-Application Framework for Value-Added-Services, the broadening of the VeriFone product range; increased focus within Prism from a sales perspective; and improved product and sales support from VeriFone.
"Prism and VeriFone have developed a close value-added relationship which can be categorised as a true partnership - we are both committed to building on this foundation into the future," Walters concludes.
