Privileged User Manager voted finalist in SC Magazine Awards 2010

Johannesburg, 19 Jul 2010

SPI, the African distributor for utility software products and services to the open systems segment of the IT industry, including Privileged User Manager (PUM), from Applecross Technologies, today announced that the latter's software had been chosen by a panel of industry experts as a finalist in the Best Identity and Access Management Solution category for the SC Magazine Awards 2010 Europe.

PUM provides users with the first, commercial-strength privileged account (super user) monitoring, management and auditing package for Unix and Linux-based systems, which is available at no greater cost than a supported version of an open source alternative.

Neil Chaney, CEO of Applecross Technologies, said: “PUM is doing very well in Europe with a number of major financial institutions, educational establishments and commercial organisations selecting it as their strategic solution. This recognition by the panel of our peers, who sit behind the awards, is welcome as further affirmation that we have the right offering at the right time.”

The software is offered on an annual subscription licence basis only, and the annual fee includes the licence, support and all upgrades.
