Payroll Giving

During August 2005, Pro Solutions became part of a revolutionary way of collecting funds for charities in a sustainable manner by being the first employer in South Africa to join a campaign called "Payroll Giving" whereby employees voluntarily make a contribution towards various charities from as little as R5 per month. This innovative approach provides a framework whereby individuals in a company can collectively contribute in a meaningful manner with minimal administrative burden.

"Our employees embraced the opportunity to contribute towards the various charities" says Alan Williams, Managing Director of Pro Solutions. "Not only do the employees choose an amount to contribute, but as a company, we have decided to match the employee contribution, effectively doubling the contribution made to the charities on a monthly basis."

The funds donated via Payroll Giving are distributed evenly between the following charities each month:

* CHOC
* Cotlands
* Red Cross
* Reach for a Dream foundation
* Ithemba Charities
* A company-selected sixth charity of choice

The concept is rooted in the collection of seemingly insignificant donations given to worthy causes on a monthly basis through automated donations as deductions implemented on existing payroll systems.

"This initiative was introduced by the South African Payroll Association, of which we are a proud member" says Williams.

Lerato Love Home

"In February 2006, we identified an opportunity to assist another local charity with the administration of the Payroll and HR function of the employees who work for the Lerato Love Home - a beneficiary of the To Life Charitable Trust" says Williams. "We administer the entire Payroll and HR function on our Axia Employee Management Solution, produce payslips for the employees, issue monthly reports to the Trust, administer the leave and HR records and assist them with doing the monthly SARS e-filing as well as produce IRP5 and IT3(a) certificates at tax year end - all this at no cost to The Lerato Love Home. We also assisted them to register with SARS, UIF and other statutory bodies and continue to provide them with any support they might require"

"We greatly appreciate all the assistance given by Pro Solutions" says Margaret Hoffmann, one of the directors of the To Life Charitable Trust. "Not only are the employees paid on time every month, but they also receive professional looking payslips. Pro Solutions are always on hand to provide relevant advice and answer queries about labour-related issues and where payday was usually a nightmare, we now look forward to it - knowing that the professionals are taking care of it."
