ProClarity business intelligence platform available for Microsoft SQL Server 2005

Johannesburg, 09 May 2005

ProClarity, a provider of analytic application technology, has developed version 6 of its Analytics Platform in line with the advancements of SQL Server 2005 Community Technology Previews to take full advantage of its business intelligence (BI) functionality.

SQL Server 2005, as yet unreleased, is Microsoft`s next-generation data management and analysis software designed to deliver increased scalability, availability and security to business-wide data and analytical applications while making them easier to create, deploy and manage.

"By developing its Analytics Platform in close conjunction with SQL Server 2005, ProClarity allows users to take full advantage of the new capabilities in the beta release," says Scot Reagin, senior architect for Hitachi Consulting. "ProClarity and Microsoft technologies integrate to provide a best-of-breed business intelligence solution, and we look forward to realising their full BI capabilities with the final release of SQL Server 2005."

"The landscape of BI is changing and ProClarity has done great work to leverage the BI enhancements in SQL Server 2005," says Bill Baker, GM for SQL Server BI at Microsoft. "SQL Server 2005 and ProClarity`s products work together to deliver analytic capabilities that provide users with the power of BI functionality."

"Business intelligence is the sum of three parts: assembling, analysing and presenting data to the user," says Keith Jones, MD of Harvey Jones Systems, local ProClarity distributor. "While Microsoft`s platform provides the first component, ProClarity has excelled at delivering on the remaining two and this version builds on the tool`s visualisation capabilities, additional key performance definitions and new navigation and automation features. It is also more tightly integrated with Excel and features better system performance while retaining its strong price versus performance ratio."

"Microsoft is introducing a new era in business intelligence with the release of SQL Server 2005 and the ProClarity Analytics Platform provides robust and intuitive front-ends to unlock the full potential of this new technology," says Clay Young, senior VP of strategic marketing at ProClarity. "We will continue to develop our award-winning analytic platform in line with the advancements in SQL Server 2005 to deliver the very best enterprise BI solution available."
