Productivity on demand: Itec releases 7215 copier

Johannesburg, 10 Jul 2001

ITEC, the dominant player in the South African digital multifunctional market has once again placed itself at the forefront of cutting edge technology with the launch of the 7215 ITEC copier.

With a warm-up time of 30 seconds and a first copy time of less than 5,5 seconds, the 7215 is the fastest in its segment. Jacques Duyver chief executive officer of ITEC, the sole South African distributor of Konica Office Automation products and supplier of the most comprehensive local range of digital input-output stations, said that this little office wizard which weighs in at a mere 38kg`s is yet another valuable addition to their growing range of digital products which are being developed to suit the specific needs of the marketplace.

Apart from its exceptional speed, the 7215`s long life components ensure economical and smooth operation of up to 100 000 pages. Together with its compact design and low noise levels, the 7215`s smart consumables and low operating costs make it the ecological choice for any modern office. This is especially relevant when the copier runs out of toner - the only item that needs to be replaced is the cartridge rather than the complete imaging unit, which reduces its environmental impact substantially.

"Increased functionality of office equipment is becoming a prerequisite as more and more pressure is put on companies to improve their productivity levels. The Itec 7215 not only has a copy and print speed of 15 copies per minute, it also supports flexible paper feeding and stacking as well as a five way paper feeder to ensure that A3 size and 160 gram paper go through smoothly," said Duyver.

"Adding to the 7215`s efficiency is the optional network interface card which provides seamless integration with practically all existing computer networks. The high performance processor and large memory capacity of maximum 136MB, reduces network traffic and improves turnaround time," he added.

Giving the ITEC 7215 additional appeal is the fact that it allows for full emulsion support. All text, photos and mixed originals up to A3 size are scanned at 600 dpi. Larger sets of originals can also now be accommodated via the optional 70-sheet document feeder.
