Parent company Project Manager Online has released its project management and issue software, ProjectManager.com, says SYS-CON.

This latest release offers new quick views to allow project managers and project team members easy access to issues, risks, and change requests stored in the project files.

"Keeping your issues in check is critical on a project," states Jason Westland, president and CEO of Project Manager Online. "Issues arise throughout any engagement - it's a given. Inconsistent management of issues and lack of issue documentation, tracking, and follow-up are major reasons why many projects fail.

Party warns against foreign software

In a letter to prime minister Manmohan Singh, the Communist Party of India (CPI) has raised the issue of sensitive government departments opting for foreign software, with their attendant implications, over indigenous solutions, according to The Hindu.

CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta alleged that tender specifications for three mega software projects were tailored to suit foreign multi-national companies and block Indian product vendors.

The three projects pertain to defence forces, the Indian Railways and the Power Grid Corporation.
