ProScan Systems announced today the opening of a Western Cape branch following the recent acquisition of Cape Town-based LabelFX.
ProScan specialises in barcoding, data automation and mobile technologies across the retail, transport and logistics, warehousing and industrial sectors. The company has a head office and service centre in Johannesburg, and a branch in Durban, servicing the KwaZulu-Natal region.
Andrew Fosbrook, Managing Director of ProScan, comments: "Our expansion into the Western Cape was prompted by the needs of our national customers and partners, along with the expected growth in this region. We will now be able to offer national service and sales support throughout SA.
"It made sense to acquire LabelFX rather than open a new branch, as the business is well established, with a strong user base and a staff of five with extensive experience and knowledge in the field of barcoding and mobile technologies."
Fosbrook adds: "ProScan is the preferred value-added distributor for world renowned barcoding brands, Intermec and Datamax. The staff at LabelFX has invaluable experience on both Intermec and Datamax products, which means that our Cape-based customers will receive high levels of sales, service and support."
George Smith of LabelFX comments: "With the national support of ProScan, we will be able to grow the barcoding and mobile business in the Western Cape region. As a result, our customers will enjoy numerous benefits, such as direct access to products, better product availability and enhanced pricing and technical support."
LabelFX will change its name to ProScan with immediate effect and continue to operate from its premises in Wynberg with Smith appointed as branch manager.
