Proscan opens Durban branch to take on KZN barcoding market

By ProScan Systems
Johannesburg, 24 Jan 2003

ProScan Systems recently opened a branch in Musgrave, Durban to service its expanding user base of barcoding and data collection equipment in this region.

ProScan is a leading supplier of barcoding, mobile computing and wireless networking equipment. The company is the leading value-added distributor for global brands, such as Intermec and Datamax, within southern Africa.

Director of ProScan KZN, Heinrich von Solms, comments: "We have approximately 280 Intermec and Datamax users in major corporate, industrial and retail operations in KwaZulu-Natal, who are delighted at the prospect of a full service branch in their region.

"Our services will not only include a full range of data collection hardware, from scanners, mobile computers, wireless networks, barcode printers and media products, but also installation, repairs, support options and training. Our Natal branch will service the burgeoning Eastern Cape region until it reaches critical mass to warrant the opening of a fully-fledged office."

ProScan has strategic alliances with dealers, value-added resellers and solution providers to ensure the supply, backup and support of all systems throughout southern Africa.
