ProScan opens fourth branch in fourteen months

By ProScan Systems
Johannesburg, 12 Aug 2003

ProScan Systems has opened its fourth regional branch in Port Elizabeth in August, following the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal branches, which completes the company`s rapid expansion programme since its inception in June last year.

The Port Elizabeth branch will support the Eastern Cape market, specifically the rapidly expanding use of barcoding and data collection systems by original equipment manufacturers and assemblers in the automotive industry.

ProScan has expanded to become one of the leading distributors of barcoding, data collection, wireless networking and mobile technologies in southern Africa, with a particular focus on vertical markets, including manufacturing, retail, transport and logistics, and warehousing.

The company`s head office and service centre is in Johannesburg, with regional offices in Durban, Cape Town and PE.

Andrew Fosbrook, Managing Director of ProScan, comments: "As exclusive distributors for global leaders, such as Intermec, and premier distributors of Datamax products, we need to offer our national customers countrywide supply and support of our products. Being in the region means we can also service our network of channel partners and integrators, as well as end-users.

"The PE branch is headed by Alan Honeyborne, who is well known in the industry and has extensive experience in barcoding and data collection technologies."
