Protea Hotels boosts online marketing strategy

ProteaHotels.com has renewed its contract with global online marketing expert Clicks2Customers as it continues to capitalise on the global tourist trade.

Although the Protea Group enjoys a healthy patronage from local tourists, the increased international profile of South Africa has made a comprehensive Internet strategy a must-have for the hotel group.

The group is enjoying good growth in its five star lodges, African Pride. This is largely due to a favourable exchange rate and outstanding facilities.

"Overcoming the burden of being a long haul destination means we need a very compelling offering. We also need to be particularly smart in how we reach our clientele," explains Clinton Arnot, sales and marketing manager ProteaHotels.com. Clicks2Customers specialises in tourism and retail, servicing a Net-savvy global client base. The Protea Hotel Group is one of only a few South African clients.
