Protek establishes operations in French-speaking West Africa

Protek, a leading supplier of business and operational support systems to the global telecommunications industry, today announced that it is expanding its African operations to include a new office in French-speaking Senegal.

The company already has a successful sales and support office in Johannesburg serving the African region. The new office will focus on complementing the Johannesburg operation by providing customer support and business development activities in West Africa.

The stability of Senegal means that Protek will be well positioned to serve and support its West African operator customers in the long-term, as well as affording the company a central base from which to develop other business opportunities in the region.

Protek has already achieved considerable success in West Africa in the areas of customer care, billing and network management. Recent communications service provider customers to select include ONATEL (Burkina Faso) and Malitel (Mali).

Cyrille Chamayou, General Manager of Protek for Francophone Africa, who has six years of experience of delivering solutions to customers in the West African market, including two years as BDM for CMG/LOGICA in the region, will run the Senegalese operation.

Cyrille commented: "This operation is a logical consequence of Protek`s Francophone strategy. Building upon our success in winning new business in West Africa, we have dramatically increased our French-speaking resources and are now able to sell, implement, train and support in our customers` natural language.
