Providenciales gets e-billing

Residents in Providenciales, an island in the Turks and Caicos Islands, no longer need to worry about mislaying their power bill as, starting this winter, PPC will be sending all bills by e-mail, says TC Weekly News.

Providenciales Power Company is replacing home delivery with e-billing from 1 December in an effort to be more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Allan Robinson, vice-president of customer and corporate services, said: “We believe that the new e-billing service is a more convenient way for customers to receive their bills.

Joint initiative boosts

Chase Paymentech has signed a joint initiative with VeriFone and Semtek to introduce end-to-end encryption technology, reports Reuters.

The companies will work together to market and distribute VeriFone`s VeriShield

The solution is designed to help merchants reduce the costs to comply with Payment Card Industry requirements and associated security by protecting card information.

Hypercom extends data encryption solutions

Hypercom is stepping up the payment card industry's ability to attack payment card data fraud, states Business Wire.

The company is teaming up with Voltage Security to bring its Asia-Pacific-based EFTSec Server payment data encryption technology to North America, Latin America and Europe.

Philippe Tartavull, Hypercom president and CEO, says: “Banks, processors, retailers and consumers will not tolerate endless attacks and incessant expenditures on card data security. Just as the threats are multi-faceted, so too must be the security approaches to counter these threats.”
