Local company PRP Solutions has unveiled a people resource planning (PRP) tool that it says empowers organisations with widespread geographic footprints to manage large workforces remotely, and in diverse work environments.
The company says the cloud-based tool - PRP Solutions - is a real-time management enabler that integrates existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) and legacy systems, including time and attendance and payroll, and efficient and reliable biometric technology.
Speaking during a media roundtable yesterday, Grenville Wilson, chairman of PRP Solutions, said the majority of managers are facing challenges when it comes to inspiring a workforce, from employing and keeping their staff motivated, to keeping up with technology that changes at a rapid rate, while using admin-intensive legacy systems.
"We devised the solution with people in mind. The solution is technology agnostic. It is clever in that it gathers its source data from all existing legacy systems and biometric devices [such as fingerprint scanners] as well as a broad range of third-party input devices," said Wilson.
He explained that management at all levels in an organisation is able to access the information generated by the solution from any platform - from mobile smartphones to desktops - and view the information in real time.
"Based on the data it collects, reports are generated and customised to an organisation's specific requirements and made available to managers to use on an exception basis, allowing them to make immediate and informed decisions.
"The technology is unique as it also has a sophisticated rules engine, which can be customised to meet specific requirements, configured to process permanent and temporary payrolls, which enables the manager to focus on the important leadership tasks of staff mentorship and coaching," said Wilson.
Also speaking at the roundtable, Kriya Govender, CEO of PRP Solutions, said the solution offers real-time visibility into labour costs (normal, overtime and allowances), enabling managers to take the necessary corrective actions.
"It also provides easy-to-use employee scheduling and tracking tools - exception and deviation reporting on planned versus actual. It also ensures managers deal with high back-office costs due to labour-intensive methods of capturing payroll and financial data and results in significantly reduced back-office costs through process automation," said Govender.
Wilson added that the tool caters for the effective management of any permanent or temporary workforce, regardless of size, allowing reliable technology to take care of business automation and, ultimately, the company's bottom line, while focusing on the wellbeing of its people and productivity.
"The system is also able to generate accurate and automated timesheets, and it interfaces with leading industry standard ERP and proprietary legacy systems," said Wilson.
