PS phone could hurt brand
The seemingly imminent release of a PlayStation phone could ultimately damage the PlayStation brand, reckons Games Investor analyst, Nick Gibson, reports CVG.
Speaking to Tech Radar, Gibson questioned whether the PlayStation Phone - which could be revealed as soon as next week - is at all beneficial to Sony Computer Entertainment.
"With PSP2 SDKs currently being deployed to developers and PSP still selling at surprisingly robust levels (given the miniscule size of ongoing PSP software sales), the PlayStation Phone concept is something of an enigma," he said.
Verizon rolls out BlackBerry Storm 2
Verizon has rolled out an update for the now discontinued BlackBerry Storm 2 that fixes various issues and adds further enhancements, notes Phone News.
Improvements centre on faster start-up, smoother handoffs between coverage areas, improved audio on voice calls and DRM video as well as improved video playback via headset and media files with DRM.
Enhancements consist of sending text messages to multiple recipients while receiving a call, entering more than 160 characters in a text message when connected to a GSM/UMTS network, widget support from V Cast Apps and access to multiple quick access widgets along with smoother activation of enterprise secure wipe/lock IT policy sets.
Motorola delivers Charm in India
Motorola has unveiled its Charm smartphone in India, writes Telecom Yatra.
The device is powered by Android 2.1 and has a 2.8-inch TFT touchscreen along with a qwerty keypad.
"Motorola strives to excite the Indian consumer with three way navigation capability - touch screen, qwerty keyboard and the backtrack, which make messaging, browsing and social networking fast and easy," says Faisal Siddiqui, country head of Motorola Mobility India.
