The two JSE-listed companies have signed a corporate partnership agreement, where Dimension Data Networking will act as a one-stop-technology shop.
PSG Investment Bank, with a core business of asset-based finance, fund management, corporate finance and investment banking, corporate lending, derivatives structuring and securities trading, believes in outsourcing non-core business.
According to Derick Burger of PSG Investment Bank, Dimension Data Networking Western Cape provides PSG with direct access to a select group of benefits - so the bank does not need to deal with multiple vendors.
The networking integrator supplies PSG Investment Bank with all their desktops, servers and networking kit - as part of a standardised yet scalable IT platform, catering for future growth.
The critical elements of this infrastructure fall under a maintenance contract, while a full-time onsite engineer from Dimension Data Networking will be responsible for the network at PSG Investment Bank`s head-office in Newlands.
PSG Investment Bank has a Compaq, Microsoft, and Cisco environment, in line with Dimension Data`s application ready networking model. This model allows business systems to be investigated, developed and deployed quickly with a resultant cost saving and potential competitive advantage.
As part of the corporate partnership agreement, Dimension Data Networking handled the full Internet Protocol (IP) re-design as well as the Systems Management Server (SMS) rollout for PSG Investment Bank and other networking projects.
Dimension Data Networking recently completed two projects for PSG, the first of which involved setting up a new office in Mauritius. Dimension Data Networking was responsible for the creation of a local area network (LAN).
The second project involved facilitating the relocation of PSG`s offices in Johannesburg to new premises within the city. Various Dimension Data Group companies were involved and with the best practices approach, the office was set up with new Cisco, Compaq and Microsoft technology.
In addition, Dimension Data group company, Videre, supplied PSG`s Cape Town and Johannesburg offices with full videoconferencing facilities, enhancing communication and productivity.
