A little under a month since being fired from her post as communications minister, Dina Pule has been appointed to Parliament's portfolio committee on transport.
The appointment comes amid a trio of investigations into allegations of corruption against Pule, and just over a week after a report that she may face sanctions from Parliament's Joint Committee on Ethics and Members' Interests should she take up her seat at Parliament.
The said investigations stemmed from allegations of cronyism, mismanagement and corruption against her - following the ICT Indaba in Cape Town last year June.
In addition to the initial probe launched shortly thereafter by SA's public protector, Thuli Madonsela, Pule is also under the scrutiny of Parliament's joint ethics committee, and the SAPS - which opened an investigation upon the Democratic Alliance's request.
Two of the three probes into Pule's affairs during her 21- month tenure as minister are set to yield feedback over coming weeks.
A sub-committee of the joint ethics committee, which has been handling the matter following recent hearings, is set to present its findings in August, while Madonsela is expected to release her findings over the next two months.
