QData Distribution appointed 3Com distributor

3Com SA has appointed QData Distribution (QDD) as it`s fourth local distributor. Under the agreement, QDD will distribute 3Com network systems and client access products to 3Com`s network partners and resellers. It will also sell system products to 3Com accredited solutions partners and advanced solutions partners. The motivating factor which prompted the appointment of a fourth distributor was that in terms of distributing systems products, 3Com needed to broaden its local distribution channel to ensure maximum penetration of the high end networking market, explains 3Com SA`s channel director, Dirk Bosmans. "We believe that the market is now ready for a fourth distributor which is in the position to focus on promoting 3Com`s high end systems business," says Bosmans. "QDD is in the position to add value with regard to a high standard of technology competency levels combined with a major focus on 3Com high end systems business." According to Paul Conradie, MD, QDD, a subsidiary of listed company PQ Africa, his company was looking to form an alliance with a world leader that could supply a full range of networking and communications solutions. "As a 3Com systems distributor, QDD is now in the position to offer high end remote access products, with an integrated approach that compliments its selection of top software and hardware-based products," he says. "3Com also have the right programs in place to offer on going training as new technologies and products emerge." LAN Design, Lattice and Datatec`s NetCorp company remain as 3Com`s other local distributors.
